Position Summary

The Thermal Engineer will take a leading role in ensuring that next-generation hardware platforms operate under stable and optimized thermal conditions. The position requires balancing theory and experimentation to deliver solutions that maintain system integrity under demanding performance requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and refine models to predict thermal and mechanical behaviour under a variety of operating conditions.
  • Design, test, and validate cooling strategies and thermal interfaces at the component and system levels.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering colleagues to identify integrated solutions.
  • Partner with suppliers and technical partners to bring concepts into production.
  • Influence design processes and contribute new methodologies that strengthen overall system reliability.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline with focus on thermal sciences.
  • Strong analytical background with proven use of simulation and calculation tools for thermal analysis.
  • Practical hands-on experience with thermal measurements, instrumentation, and interpretation of data.
  • A mindset that is curious, collaborative, and comfortable with solving open-ended technical challenges.
  • 3+ years working in thermal engineering, ideally with experience in advanced electronics, aerospace, or photonics.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (such as SolidWorks) and thermal simulation packages.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle management systems and cross-disciplinary hardware design practices.
